About

Hello! My name is George Whitcher, and I’m a software developer based in New Hampshire. I’ve been building things on the web professionally since 2006, and I genuinely love what I do. Over the years, I’ve worked on everything from small business websites to large-scale platforms, but at my core, I’m someone who enjoys solving problems and creating tools that make people’s lives a little better.

What I’ve been doing even longer than software development, though, is snowboarding.

Snowboarding isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s something that’s had a real impact on my life. It’s kept me active, motivated, and grounded through different seasons of life. These days, I live about ten minutes from a ski resort and try to get on the mountain as often as I can. I also travel to other resorts whenever possible, sometimes even camping in my vehicle, so I can save money and be there for first chair. I guess that officially earns me the title of “ski bum,” and I’m perfectly okay with that.

Being on the mountain clears my head. It’s where I reset, push myself, and reconnect with why I love being outdoors. Over time, I started wishing there was a tracking app that felt like it was actually built by someone who rides, something focused on the metrics that matter, without unnecessary clutter, subscriptions, or gimmicks.

So I decided to build it myself.

SkiTracker was created by a snowboarder for snowboarders and skiers. My goal is to provide simple, reliable tools that help you track your sessions, see your progress, and relive your days on the slopes. Whether you care about vertical, speed, distance, or just keeping a log of your adventures, SkiTracker is meant to support your riding, not distract from it.

This is very much a passion project. I’m building SkiTracker independently, handling everything from development to design to infrastructure. My hope is to grow it into something truly special, a platform riders can rely on and feel connected to. I’d love to see SkiTracker become the go-to app for snowboarders and skiers everywhere, but that only happens with community support.

If you enjoy the app, please consider sharing it with friends, spreading the word, or donating to help support continued development. Every bit helps keep the project moving forward and allows me to add new features and improvements over time.

Thanks for being part of the journey.

See you on the slopes.
